Gbemileke Adekunle
Gbemileke Adekunle is a Nigerian visual artist whose work moves between expressive figuration and semi-abstraction. From his earliest drawings made with burnt wood on old cement bags to his exploration of vulnerability, resilience and self-discovery, his practice is deeply rooted in personal experience.
For 20districts, Adekunle presents Stay With Me, a work exploring the tension between fragility and independence, connection and self-reliance. Through this sense of duality, the painting reflects a recurring theme in his practice: the search for balance, healing and a deeper understanding of the self.
